Matcha Masterclass

Held only a few times each year, the Matcha Masterclass is an immersive journey into the world of authentic Japanese matcha, guided by Ryoko Benoist, founder of MUSUBI MATCHA and certified Japanese Tea Advisor.

Through stories, tasting and traditional preparation, discover the origins of matcha, the shaded organic tea fields of Wazuka, Kyoto, and the craftsmanship that has shaped this centuries-old tradition.

The Matcha Masterclass has already been presented in Milan, Paris and Angers, bringing together matcha enthusiasts and newcomers around an intimate and refined experience.

Two exceptional organic matcha are served side by side. One from the latest harvest. The other, a one-year aged matcha, matured under carefully controlled conditions and reserved exclusively for this masterclass.

The Art of Matcha

A Journey into the World of Authentic Matcha

Discover how time transforms matcha, revealing a deeper umami, increased sweetness, and a remarkable complexity that freshly ground matcha cannot offer.

After the tasting, each participant prepares their own bowl of usucha — the traditional way of enjoying matcha in Japan — accompanied by a fresh seasonal wagashi. Guided by Ryoko Benoist, you will learn the correct preparation technique, its cultural significance, and how to reveal the most beautiful expression of authentic Japanese matcha.

Beyond knowledge and technique, this masterclass offers something increasingly rare: the opportunity to slow down. Through the simple gestures of preparing and sharing a bowl of matcha, discover a moment of presence, mindfulness, and a deeper connection with one of Japan’s most refined traditions.
