I had the opportunity to attend a matcha masterclass, and it was a truly enriching experience. Ryoko san guided us with clarity and passion, generously sharing her deep knowledge and love for matcha.
Today, many people are not fully aware of what matcha truly is especially when it comes to what we call ceremonial grade matcha. This course helps bridge that gap, offering a deeper understanding of the product and its real value.
Throughout the masterclass, you gain insight into the dedication, care, and collective effort behind every step of the process. Cultivating organic matcha means respecting nature, as well as honoring the people who tend the plants with patience, skill, and great attention to detail.
The course was also very well organized and held in an elegant location called Ekadea. The atmosphere was so refined and immersive that it truly felt like being transported to Japan.
I wholeheartedly recommend this course to matcha lovers who wish to develop a more conscious relationship with what they drink and nourish their bodies with, while fully appreciating the authentic value of matcha.

I received the Musubi Matcha Masterclass as a gift, and it turned out to be a truly memorable experience. Hosted in the refined and welcoming setting of Ekadea in Milan, the atmosphere immediately set the tone for something special. The masterclass itself, led by Ryoko, was both fascinating and deeply enjoyable, combining theory and tasting in a way that felt thoughtful and inspiring. I especially loved the more technical insights, learning about matcha production and how to recognize different cultivars gave me a whole new perspective and appreciation for this tea. The hands-on session was the highlight—each of us prepared an usucha with organic matcha individually under Ryoko’s attentive guidance. It was an immersive moment, both engaging and wonderfully calming, made even more special by the genuine care and warmth shown toward us throughout the experience.

I loved the workshop! I discovered and learnt so many new things about Matcha (even though I am Japanese!), and it was super interesting.

The environment, the atmosphere, the people who joined the workshop, and Ryoko-san’s personality all fit so beautifully!

  12. Hanako

As a Japanese person, I grew up with tea culture and thought I already understood matcha. Ryoko’s masterclass showed me how much more there is to learn.

This class goes beyond how to prepare matcha. Ryoko explains its history, production, and what truly defines quality, including what “ceremonial grade” really means. Her teaching is clear, calm, and precise, and you can feel her deep respect for the people and nature behind each bowl of tea.

Preparing my own usucha under her guidance was a simple but powerful experience. It was focused, quiet, and grounding—very much in the spirit of Japanese tradition.

The setting is elegant and peaceful, creating an atmosphere that helps you fully engage with the experience.
Even as a Japanese participant, I discovered new perspectives and gained a deeper appreciation for matcha. I highly recommend this masterclass to anyone who wants to understand matcha properly and enjoy it more consciously.

The Musubi Matcha Masterclass took place in the calm and elegant surroundings of Ekadea in Milan, where the atmosphere immediately encouraged focus and curiosity. Rather than following a rigid structure, the session flowed naturally between explanation and tasting, guided by Ryoko with clarity and ease. The deeper exploration of matcha production and cultivars was particularly enlightening, offering a more informed way to recognize quality and origin. The most memorable moment came during the practical session, when each participant prepared an usucha using organic matcha, working individually and with close guidance. The process felt unhurried and almost meditative, defined by a sense of care and attention that carried through the entire experience.
