Matcha Masterclass is a guided encounter with matcha in its most precise form: its origins, its cultivation in the shaded fields of Kyoto, and the tools that have shaped its preparation for centuries.

Two ceremonial-grade organic matchas are served for tasting, allowing you to experience their differences. The first comes from the current harvest. The second has been aged for one year under carefully controlled conditions and is reserved exclusively for this masterclass.

Aging rounds the flavour, deepens the umami, and reveals a dimension that fresh matcha cannot offer. It is not available elsewhere.

After the tasting, each participant prepares their own bowl of usucha 薄茶,  the correct technique, in its cultural context, and how to enjoy matcha at its most delicious form.

Beyond knowledge and technique, this session offers something that has become rare: a deliberate pause. A quiet space to slow down, and to understand — through the hands — what makes this matcha what it is.
