A piece that reflects the elegance and symbolism of Japanese tea culture.

This natsume (棗) was created by Shinsui (峯清), featuring a vivid vermilion lacquer surface adorned with delicate gold maki-e depicting cranes and pine trees.

In Japanese aesthetics, cranes represent longevity and good fortune, while pine trees symbolise strength and enduring beauty. Together, these motifs bring a sense of harmony and auspiciousness to the tea ceremony.

The deep vermilion lacquer, combined with the refined gold decoration, creates a striking yet graceful presence. Designed to hold matcha powder, the natsume is not only a functional tea utensil but also an object of appreciation, admired for its craftsmanship and seasonal elegance.

The natsume comes with its original wooden box (共箱), confirming its authenticity and provenance.
