MUSUBI MATCHA 1 Year Aged Premium Matcha Refill 30g
50,00€
One year of patience – a different expression of Okumidori
For the past year, our 1 Year Aged Matcha has been served at our Matcha Masterclasses in Paris and Milan, allowing guests to discover a different expression of traditional Japanese matcha.
The first 2026 release sold out immediately. The 2nd release is now available in extremely limited quantities. Once sold out, the next release is not expected until 2028.
One leaf, one full year, a different experience
Our regular Premium Matcha rests for 6 months before stone-milling. This limited edition goes further, with Okumidori leaves harvested in May 2025 and matured for a full year before being slowly stone-milled.
Time brings a different balance to the cup. The sharper notes soften, the umami becomes more rounded, and the natural sweetness lingers. The result is a smooth, delicate matcha with greater depth and very little bitterness.
No blending. No added ingredients. Just the same carefully selected cultivar, given more time to develop its character.
Directly sourced from Wazuka, Kyoto
Grown by our partner family farm in Wazuka, Kyoto, with over 350 years of tea-growing heritage and more than 40 years of organic cultivation.
We work directly with the farm and our founder visits each year to see the tea fields and leaves firsthand. Every batch is traceable to its origin, from traditionally shade-grown Okumidori to the final slow stone-milling at approximately 30–40 g per hour.
At MUSUBI MATCHA, we select matcha to be enjoyed pure, without milk, sugar or blends, so that the character of the tea itself remains at the centre of the experience.
Made to be enjoyed as usucha
Whisked with hot water and served without additions, this matcha reveals its rounded umami, lingering sweetness and smooth finish. An opportunity to explore how cultivar, cultivation and time shape the tea in your bowl.
An exceptionally limited release
Each batch depends on a specific harvest and a full year of maturation. This is not a continuously available product. Once the current release is gone, the next is not expected until 2028.
Available exclusively as a refill in a resealable pouch, ideal for those who already own a MUSUBI MATCHA tin or wish to discover this rare edition alongside their regular matcha.
