The Essence of Japanese Matcha
This 90-minute Matcha Masterclass is an intimate and immersive experience limited to 6 participants, centered around MUSUBI MATCHA’s premium organic ceremonial-grade matcha.
Participants will explore:

The origins and history of Japanese matcha

How high-grade organic matcha is cultivated in Kyoto, including traditional shaded tea field techniques

How to select quality matcha and understand harvest differences

Traditional tools used for preparing usucha 薄茶
Participants taste 2 different ceremonial-grade matcha harvested in different seasons. One is freshly produced, the other has been carefully aged for one year to develop greater depth and roundness which is reserved exclusively for the masterclass.
After the guided tasting, each participant prepares their own bowl of usucha, learning the correct technique within its cultural context. Beyond knowledge and technique, this masterclass offers something essential: a deliberate pause.
A quiet moment to slow down, and reconnect through the shared ritual of matcha.
Next edition: a special dinner centered around matcha, followed by a Matcha Masterclass hosted at a restaurant Le Sourire in Angers on Monday, 30th March.
